Page needs renaming—Lord-Consort Kieran Brion Nemed mac Neith ap Morrigan

Kieran is a changeling. Three days after his birth, he was stolen from his human parents and taken to Snob Hill, where he was raised to be a go-between for his adoptive parents' meddling in human affairs. Since the nature of the Tuatha de Danaan is defined by magic more than genetics, he has taken on many of their attributes, and is often mistaken for Aes Sidhe except when among them. When he worked for House Ailil, he didn't live on the Hill; he came and went as his "family" directed; he was basically a glorified errand boy, yet he somehow maintained a sky-high opinion of himself, and aspired to be knighted for his service. Now that he is consort to the Lady Morrigan, he lives in her palace on the Hill; he comes and goes as she directs; he is basically a glorified gigolo, and his opinion of himself is rather bleak.

As well as being an accomplished swordsman, Kieran is highly proficient in traditional Sidhe sorcery or Gramarye. His common cantrips include calling a will-o'-the-wisp to light his way, invoking a mighty battle rage (which he calls the Dragon's Ire), and changing into a carrion crow (formerly a raven) or a tench. With a poem or a song, he can manipulate the emotions and perceptions of others; he can prophesy and scry with appropriate rituals. He can lay blessings and curses and enchant itmes as well, but they take hours or days to prepare. Anyone who has accepted a gift or a favor from him or who has made the mistake of thanking him or apologizing to him is particularly vulnerable to his magic, unless and until they find a way to repay the debt.

Kieran customarily dresses in ice-blue or snow-white; in formal contexts, he bears a shoulder-badge of azure, an angel argent prostrate before a throne argent. (These colors do not suit him as well as his former black and silver, but them's the breaks when you change allegiance.) He almost always carries a rapier.

Tally of favors: one owed to him by an unnamed fallen angel; one arguably owed to him by Loki; one owed by him to Tristan Archimonde, one owed by him to Tristan's father, one owed by him to Diego del Fuego.

The old character quiz, answered anew for 2013:

What is your name?

Lord Consort Kieran Brion Nemed mac Neith ap Morrigan, an it please you. (Or just "Kieran" if you're not Aes Sidhe.)

What is your quest?

"My pleasure is my power to serve my Mistress; my power, my pleasure in that power."

What is your favorite color?

Still black, though I can't wear it at court. Ice-blue and white don't suit my complexion nearly as well as black and silver, but that's politics.

What is your stake in the city? Why would you risk your life and perhaps your soul to protect Murias?

…you know, I don't really know. I certainly wasn't about to protect it against the Winter Court, when they came calling.

It's just my home, I guess. I can't imagine leaving it for any great length of time. When I may, I will protect my home.

Describe your personality.

I still live by the law of enlightened self-interest, and I'm still an adrenaline junkie, but I am not so optimistic as I once was. I think something inside me broke when I realized Gwen was gone despite everything I had done, and I don't know how to fix it.

What is your greatest strength?

Gramarye. I'm getting pretty good at it, now that I've learned how to study properly. I'm not slacking off with the sword or hand-to-hand practice either.

What is your greatest weakness?

I completely alienated all my former contacts and allies when I abruptly changed my allegiance from House Ailil to House Morrigan. I have nowhere to hang my hat and no protection save my Mistress' changeable regard.

Are you a full-time demon-hunter or do you have another life?

I go where my Mistress sends. Sometimes she sends me to hunt demons.

Do you have contacts/friends/allies in the Dreaming City? Who are they and how can they help you?

I burned those bridges when I left House Ailil. I'm building new ones now, but all I have for the moment are a handful of personal friends (read: the PCs).

Have you made any enemies lately? Who are they?

Oh dear Gods yes. House Ailil, and the Seelie lords for that matter, would have my head on a platter were it not for Mistress' sponsorship. That's enough enemies for any hundred men.

And, you know, the Mob still doesn't care for me much. Pfft. I have bigger worries.

When Murias isn't threatened by something big, where can you be found?

In the halls of court (perhaps on Mistress' arm), in my arcane workroom, in the salle des armes. Sometimes down in the city, running errands for my Mistress. I suppose that's my wyrd: the eternal errand-boy.
